According to the information provided by the AA reporter, vaccination efforts, which are seen as the most effective way to stop the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, continue in a rapid sense. Within this framework, a total of more than 14 million 500 thousand doses of CoronaVac vaccine of Chinese origin, including 8 million 200 thousand first dose and 6 million 300 thousand second dose, have been injected.

While supplying CoronaVac and BioNTech vaccines from abroad, negotiations are still continuing with companies that produce other Covid-19 vaccines in use.

Turkey has provided 28 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to date. 18 million doses of them have been taken into use, while the non-bottled vaccine, which corresponds to 10 million doses, will also begin to be administered to citizens after filling operations are carried out.

100 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine are expected to reach Turkey by the end of May.

1.4 million doses of BioNTech vaccine have arrived in the country

1.4 million doses have been supplied from the German-based BioNTech vaccine, while this number is scheduled to reach 4.5 million doses at the beginning of April. An optional agreement was also reached with BioNTech to provide 30 million doses of the vaccine.

On the other hand, the first negotiations have begun for supplying of Sputnik V, a Covid-19 vaccine of Russian origin.

Domestic vaccination studies are progressing smoothly
In addition to the Covid-19 vaccines provided from abroad, the studies started to produce the domestic vaccine are progressing rapidly and smoothly.

Phase-2 studies of the inactive vaccine developed by Erciyes University are ongoing. Within the scope of Phase-2, the second dose vaccine of the last volunteer will be made on April 9. The Phase-3 of this vaccine is intended to start at the end of April. In addition, Phase-1 studies of an inactive vaccine study will be started, while a different inactive vaccine will progress into Phase-1 within a few days. In addition, Phase-1 studies of a virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine have also been started.
