The African Center for Disease Control and Prevention warned that the difficulties in the supply of Covid-19 vaccines in different parts of the world, especially in Europe, may adversely affect African countries.

Dr. John Nkengasong, Director of the African Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), told reporters: " The Covid-19 vaccine war, with new fears, may cause delays in vaccine supply to Africa."

Noting that the use of AstraZeneca vaccine has been suspended in some countries, Nkengasong said: " Lives can be lost if we have difficulty accessing the vaccine. Humanity does not need to go into a vaccine war to fight the virus, otherwise we will all lose."
