Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, stated that the Cabinet has accepted the usage of vaccine certificate in the country where the battle against the Delta variant of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) is ongoing.
According to Radio New Zealand news, Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Arlend made statements about the vaccine certificate which will serve as the proof of vaccination of New Zealanders.
Stating that certificates will be required for big events such as music festivals, Prime Minister Ardern said "We will use them (the vaccine certificates) as tools to mitigate the risks in spaces which are currently acknowledged to be high risk."
Declaring that New Zealanders will begin to use the digital Covid-19 vaccine certificates with QR code which also mean "vaccine passport," Ardern said "Please get vaccinated now, summer is close And so to be fully vaccinated and fully protected and do the things you love, you need to be vaccinated this month, not in December."
Stating that they will make a more detailed explanation about how this new practice will work "soon," Ardern said that they are not planning to use vaccine certificates in places such as healthcare services and supermarkets.
